ADVANTAGES OF AN IP CAMERA
Advantages of an IP network camera are:
- Better wireless reception -- IP camera has encryption for a more secure network. Interference is also not a problem with IP-based models.
- Can utilize existing wiring -- Because an IP-based camera acts as it's own network device, you can often use existing wiring making installation easier.
- Remote access can be easier -- IP network camera is better suited for remote surveillance needs.
- Advanced features -- Many basic analog cameras often lack some advanced features of the IP network camera such as digital zoom.
IP CAMERA WITH CCD SENSORS
All IP cameras have image sensors that are either CMOS or CCD. For many applications there isn't much difference, but when you need to use your video surveillance recordings for legal matters then then extra fine details provided by a CCD security camera is a better choice.
