TRADING TERMS
General
Our Trading Terms are fully explained on this page and on the Warranty and Delivery pages. The important note below relating to Import Taxes and/or Duties is also repeated on the About Us page.
Important Note Relating to Import Taxes / Duties
Buying from us you will, without any doubt, get value for your money - in most cases you would probably have to pay twice as much to purchase the equivalent product manufactured in your country, but you need to be aware before you buy that in most countries all goods imported over a certain amount, which varies by country, are subject to some form of duty or tax.
These charges are your responsibility and have to be paid for at the time of receiving the goods or some time later. You need to make an allowance for this additional cost when placing your order.
The duty or tax rates vary by country but such rates are normally applied on the import value, not the price you pay. To offer you some idea of the impact of this extra cost, although we cannot accept any responsibility for this, imports into the UK are subject to VAT at 17.5%, (increasing on 4 Jan 2011 to 20.0%). We must stress again that this is only intended as a guideline to make you aware of a possible additional cost. We cannot accept any responsibility regarding the actual amount of tax or duty payable. It is your responsibility to check what this duty or tax will be in your country.
We also need to mention here that customers in the following 5 countries should pay particular attention to this matter, because their countries have very strict import rules and regulations. These countries are France, Portugal, Spain, Greece and Malta.
Payment in Advance
All Orders need to be paid for in advance. Our delivery claim of "within 14 days" commences only when we have been advised that payment has been received. At the present time the only method of payment accepted is PAYPAL.
Disclaimer Relating to Goods Impounded by Customs
Easy Shopping-Electronics is not responsible for informing the customer about their own country's import regulations or duties or taxes. Therefore if an order is blocked by customs en route to the customer, or if the customer refuses to pay customs charges, duties or taxes, Easy Shopping-Electronics is not liable to pay for the return of those goods to the manufacturer.
Furthermore Easy Shopping-Electronics will not recover their payment to the manufacturer for the goods and/or the shipping costs, so there is no way the customer can be given any kind of refund.
It is completely the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the intended import is legal in his/her country, and that he/she is aware of the possible import duty or tax that will have to be paid before he/ she places the order.
Such cases are extremely rare, but if goods en route to the customer are so impounded by Customs, Easy Shopping-Electronics, in conjunction with the manufacturer and the courier allocated the shipment, will make every possible effort to redeem the situation and get the goods released and delivered to the customer.
Courier used for the Shipment
The shipping price quoted at the time the order is placed, is for the best suited courier for the specific area, based on previous experience and price. Easy Shopping-Electronics reserves the right to use the shipping company of their choice.
If however, the customer for whatever reason needs the order to be shipped by a specific one of the three couriers we currently can use, namely DHL, Fedex or UPS, then we may need to request an additional payment if this courier's charge is significantly in excess of that included in the original quote. In such case the order will then be withheld until the difference is paid.
Delivery Warranty Return and Refunds
Delivery Matters, the Manufacturer's Warranty, and Returns and Refunds are amply covered in our web pages for Delivery and Warranty, but we can make a customer, who has disregarded all our advice and conditions, one final "last resort" offer, if he/she really needs to return the goods ordered.
All goods sold by Easy Shopping-Electronics are supplied with a 12 month warranty from the manufacturer and the terms of this warranty are amply covered in the Warranty page, which as aforesaid, forms a part of our trading terms.
As is the case with all imports, the manufacturers do not accept returns or give refunds, unless they have in any way failed to deliver that which was offered and/or that which the customer has ordered.
It is very clear in our website, in more than one page, that the responsibility for ordering the correct product, the responsibility for informing themselves before ordering about any tax or duty payable and about the legality of the product being imported, rests solely with the customer, and that neither Easy Shopping-Electronics or the manufacturer can be held in any way responsible for such matters.
Nevertheless Easy Shopping-Electronics will accommodate any customer who really needs to return the goods, but ONLY if all the following conditions are fully complied with:
- The goods must be returned to Easy Shopping-Electronics at our address in the U.K. within 21 days from the date received by the customer.
- The intention to return must be communicated to us by email, and agreed with us, before the return is sent.
- The cost of the return is paid for and borne by the customer.
- The goods must be returned in their original packing together with all accessories completely free of damage and in a fit state for re-sale.
- The goods must not be in a defective state so that they could have been returned to the manufacturer for refund under the 12 month warranty.
The amount to be refunded is the amount paid by the customer for the goods, excluding the shipping cost which has already been borne by Easy Shopping-Electronics, less any tax or duty Easy Shopping-Electronics have to pay, if the return constitutes an import to the U.K., less a handling and restocking fee of 10% or £10, whichever is the higher.
Cancellation of Orders
Cancellation of an Order is dependant on the state of the Order at the time the cancellation notice is received. Cancellations need to be sent to us by email. We check our email periodically during the day between 9.00am and 12.00pm (UK Time) and will email the manufacturer on receipt of your cancellation email. We will then respond to your email as soon as we have heard from the manufacturer.
If we have not yet placed the order with the manufacturer because your payment clearance is awaited, the order is automatically cancelled and you will receive an email to that effect. If the payment does clear in the meantime you will receive a refund within 7 days.
If the order has already been placed with the manufacturer, and we notify the manufacturer of the cancellation before they have started to process the order, then we will email you as soon as we hear from the manufacturer, confirming the cancellation without charge, and you will receive a refund soon after (within 7days).
If however, the manufacturer has already started processing the order he may charge a re-stocking fee of up to 20% of the order value, in which case the amount of the refund will be the amount you paid us less the charge we have to pay the manufacturer. In this case the refund will only be processed when we know exactly what the manufacturer is charging us. We will as in the other cases inform you by email confirming the cancellation and in this case advising you of the possible charge that will reduce the refund amount. It is worth pointing out that the manufacturer will not normally make the charge unless they actually incur costs to redress the actions already taken with respect to your order.
If the goods have already been dispatched to the Courier the order cannot be cancelled, and again we will email you to this effect as soon as we hear from the manufacturer.
Refund of Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are not refundable ! Such costs would only be refundable if the item supplied is substantially not as the item ordered is described in our website.
Shipping Problems
First of all, shipping problems are not a cause for concern to us and should not be a cause for concern to the buyer simply because such problems are very rare. Our manufacturers, with years of experience of delivering worldwide, ensure that the delivery information on orders is sufficient for the courier, and tracking details are given to customers so they know when to expect delivery.
Secondly all shipments are covered by the Couriers Insurance so that any losses suffered in transit such as lost packages or damaged goods can be reclaimed.
The important issues for the customer are simply that he must act responsibly and communicate any problems immediately, okay within a few days !
In particular:
- He/she must only sign for what he/she receives.
- Any physical damage to packages must be noted on the paperwork of the courier that he/she signs.
- Easy Shopping-Electronics must be notified by email of such damage and any other discrepancy identified when the package is opened and the product used. This should be done within 7 days of receipt.
- Easy Shopping-Electronics must be notified by email of non receipts within 7 days from the date the package was expected.
In all such cases Easy Shopping-Electronics will notify the manufacturer and will work together with the manufacturer to resolve the matter with the courier, including the making of the Insurance Claim and pursuing such claim to conclusion to provide the customer with a replacement as soon as possible.
Disclaimer relating to damages
We will not be responsible for any damage that may be caused on your computer, console, or other hardware, or software, during the use of, or in any way related to, any product supplied by us.
We will not be liable for any damage or personal loss due to incorrect installation of any product supplied by us.
